Looks like it would be an interesting documentary movie to watch. And Thank God! Ana deviated from reality by focusing on racism against Indian students in Australia. That wouldn’t have been a true reflection of reality. Glad she got a deeper insight into it before venturing into the over-hyped media sensationalized racism angle.
I guess this movie is based on a very topical issue and will emotionally appeal to thousands of Indian students hit by the change in Immigration Policy yet to affect those studying in Australia [while already affecting those applying for Skilled Migration offshore].
It wouldn’t be fair to comment before watching the movie but I gather the movie is about Indian students who want to stay in Australia and would have been happier with better employment opportunities there. However, I wonder why international students are not happy with the Off-Campus Part-Time Employment and Post Study Work opportunity a student gets? After all, students who go to Australia or any other country for that matter should have the primary purpose of gaining a qualification overseas and utilizing this education back home. At least this is what the students state when they apply for a Study Visa in their home country. I really think students should be content with the work opportunity they get in the form of Part Time Employment, OPT or CPT.
If employment avenues are limited for fresh graduates in Australia there are great employment opportunities for those migrating to Australia for the purpose of settlement. Wouldn’t it be nice if those who are not able to get employed after studies rather come back home to gain sufficient work experience and then apply for Skilled Migration once they have a better fitting profile for the skill set Australians are looking for those with a migrant intent? After all, students are essentially non-immigrants so why should they feel so let down if they are not able to settle in Australia upon graduating? Think about it.
